Wedding Favours are one of those things as you start making your list as to what you need to get for the table decorations you then can't decide whether you need to have them or if you “should” have them.
The history of wedding favours started in France in the 16th Century, where they gave their guests "bonbonnieres" which were sugar coated Almonds or sweets, this was a thank you token but also the sweetness of the almonds which thought to symbolise a bittersweet marriage. As this tradition spread worldwide and become increasely popular, the trend grow and grow and today we use many other things as wedding favours to give to our guests.
So the question is are you having wedding favours?
and if so what are you thinking of having?
Do you stick with the traditional favours? sugared almonds
or do you go with something different. There are so many different options for favours out there, its just finding the right one that fits with you whether its budget, edible, keepsakes or unique they will all look great.
Here are a few wedding favours I have found whilst searching the around. I hope they give you some inspiration and help you make that decision whether you want to have them or not!
I have also found favours that link in with your name placing, which I think its a great idea.
If you decide that wedding favours aren’t for you but feel that the table is missing something then you could put some wedding bubbles on there (great way of keeping kids ……… and some adults entertained) or maybe disposable cameras – if nothing else it gives you both a giggle looking at developed photos a few weeks later – cant beat random wedding photos.
Happy wedding planning

Are you thinking of having a smaller wedding? but trying to weigh up whether to do it or not? Many couple choose to have a small wedding with many reason behind it, it could be that you have just fallen in love with a venue and they are limited on guests numbers which means you can only have a smaller affair or maybe it comes down to your budget and that something smaller is all your budget will allow.
Couples who decide to get married abroad tend to normally have a smaller wedding then what they would have had back home, but destination weddings are becoming very popular and after all who wouldnt want to get married on a beach or in a lovely private villa in SUNNY SPAIN!
PROS:
Budget – When planning a wedding the budget is the first thing you need to set, weddings can cost a fortune and it is easy to think you have got everything on your list and then you forget something and then budget slowing increases. Some couples choose to have a small wedding because they have a smaller budget and there will be ample of choice when finding that perfect venue.
DIY wedding – When having a smaller wedding it does mean that you can get a bit more creative and do a lot of the planning and decorations yourself. This is a FAB way of getting as many people involved in your special day. It is always lovely to be able to do a DIY wedding, shopping for your decorations, then creating them exactly how you want them and seeing it all coming together on the day.
Offer better food and drinks – If you’re having a smaller guest list and your budget allows you, you can always then offer better quality food, this could be from just adding canapés as part of your welcome reception or having more expensive food for your sit-down meal. You could also add in a champagne reception, signature cocktails, gin bar and maybe an open bar giving your guests the opportunity to indulge. It is always nice to be able to have better quality food that your guests will be sure to enjoy if you can afford it.
More quality time with your guests – It can be hard on your wedding day to ensure that you have spoken to all your guests throughout the evening and this can mean that you spend most your wedding reception walking around, chatting to your guests briefly and then having to move onto your next guests and you and your partner may only cross paths throughout the evening. By having a smaller guest list it means that you can spend so much more quality time with them and enjoy their company.
Less stressful – Weddings are stressful we all know that! But if you can reduce your stress then take that opportunity, and by having a smaller wedding comes less stress and this can definitely take off some of the pressures of planning a wedding.
Adding little extras – Having a smaller wedding can mean that you can add some little extras to your wedding to make it exactly as you had dreamed of. There are many different little extras you can add to your day depending on what your budget allows you, you could add small favours for each guest that are more personal to them or add a box of dancing shoes (flip flops) so guests have no excuse not to dance the night away. If budget allows you could add a photo booth, this always goes down a treat at weddings. The little extras can make such a difference and will be sure to make it memorable.
CONS:
Upsetting family members – It can be very hard to keep everyone happy when it comes to planning a wedding, I am sure that at some point in the planning process someone in the family will not be happy about something. When it comes to planning a small wedding it may cause a bit of upset amongst the family as you will not be able to invite everyone, your relative that you haven’t seen in 10 years, I’m sure will not be too disappointed that they haven’t been invited, so please don’t worry and remember it is your day.
Can be more stress – Above we have said that it can be less stressful having a small wedding…. Which is true but, there can be stress with having a smaller wedding too and this to due to you will probably have to do everything yourself! It does all depend on what venue you have chosen as some smaller venues still do have an events team on-hand to help but if they don’t, then yes it’s all down to you and your partner to ensure that everything is booked, paid and you have ticked off everything from your wedding list.
Might have regret of keeping it small – Your wedding day is supposed to be perfect, exactly as you had always dreamed of so make sure that if you’re having a small wedding you’re having it for the right reasons. Don’t have any regrets down the line that you wished you had gone with a larger wedding because not everyone to could make it or that you didn’t include things that you may have wanted too.
Less of a “party” feel – If you are looking for a party feel to your wedding then a smaller wedding may not fully achieve this, with few guests it can end up being a bit more relaxed, and not get that full party atmosphere you may want. People wait for those first few guests to make their way to the dance floor then everyone joins in, but if there is only a small number of guests people might not want to make that first move which could result to no-one hitting the dance floor. Of course, if you are looking for a low –key wedding then this is something you will not worry about, however, if you want to strut yourself on the dance floor then a smaller wedding may not be exactly what you’re looking for.
As you can see there are plenty of advantages and disadvantages for a smaller wedding and it just takes time weighing it all up and deciding on what style and atmosphere you require for your wedding day. But remember it is YOUR day and that you both agree with what you want for the wedding day, as that is what is important and remember to stick with your decisions.

Pierre Richardson Photography
1) A photo of your company team, bit about the company and your services in Spain
My name is Pierre, I am a full-time professional wedding photographer based in Tarifa, just south of Gibraltar where the Costa del Sol meets Africa. This is where I have made my home, and where I have established my studio for the last 14 years.
I am often asked what it's like to live here, and do what I do, and the short answer is I believe I have the best job in the world: I am permanently surrounded by happy people in beautiful settings, who invite me to the happiest day of their lives to help them remember it forever. And all this in guaranteed sunshine..!
Fun and light-hearted as all this may be, it is also for me a great responsibility, as your wedding photographs are the foundation for preserving all those wonderful memories, which you and your loved ones will cherish for years to come.
I always feel very honoured when couples entrust me with photographing their wedding day, and it really inspires me to capture it in a way that reflects their vision, with all the love, the joy, the beauty, and the sacredness of such a special occasion. So to all you lovely happy people, a genuine and heartfelt "thank you"!
2) how long have you been working along side Perfect Spanish Weddings? Your experience in working with them?
I have worked with Perfect Spanish Weddings for a couple of years now, and I have found Moira and all her team to be very professional, easy going and just great to work with.
3) what is your favourite wedding trend? and Why?
The vintage-glamour look, as much for the couples' outfits as for the settings and decorations, I like this new classy trend of mixing old and new, it's fresh and makes for great photos!
4) if you could recommend a place to visit whilst in Spain to our couples where would it be and why?
It has to be Tarifa, my home town, with its 7 km of white sandy beaches, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic ocean, and Africa is just a short hop across the strait. It is one of the most beautiful places in Europe, perfect for wedding photography, especially "trash the dress" shoots!
5) What is your favourite Spanish Dish?
Tapas, tapas!
6) what does 2018 wedding season have in store for you?
It's already shaping up to be a very busy season here in Spain, but I have established a base in Dublin this year, so I hope to develop more business opportunities there for 2018.
